I love lists. It is as simple as that. I have wanted to write this blog post for months now but kept adding ideas to my list. So, I decided to finally stop adding to my list and write.

Are you like me – you love to read lists that organizations put together? Whether it is a top ten this or the top 25 that – I read them. I'm an easy target to pick up any magazine off of the newsstand if it has a list on it.

So here's my list of my some of my favorite lists.

1. Best Dressed Lists – It is awards season, and the lists that are published the day after the big ceremony are my favorite part. Whether it is Joan Rivers and the Fashion Police or People's Style Watch – I love them. My friends and I even put together our own top ten list on Facebook too.

2. Bucket Lists – I created my first "bucket list" or "Things to do before I..." list when I was a senior at the University of Virginia. My roommate and I posted our list on the refrigerator of our apartment. The list ranged from serious accomplishments such as auditing a particular class, to fun goals such as making sure I visited every building on campus. Let me tell you, the afternoon we spent at the graduate business school getting lost still brings back fond memories.

3. Travel Related Lists – If you are like me, you find yourself channel surfing, only to get enraptured by a show that features some type of top travel destination. Some of my favorites are Travel Channel's Best Beaches, CNN/Fodor's Best Hotels, and Wealth TV's Countdown of Luxurious Yachts. Note: my husband and I plan to visit all of those beaches and hotels when we win the Powerball.

4. PhilanthropistsChronicle of Philanthropy, Forbes, and many others publish annual top donors and philanthropists list. I admire these individuals for their support of charities.

5. People With Whom I Want to Have Dinner: I think we have all played this game where we imagine who we might want to have dinner with if we could have "the most amazing dinner party." Here are mine: UNC basketball legendary coach Dean Smith, my grandfather, CS Lewis, Eleanor Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson.

Other favorites lists are: college men's basketball rankings, most popular baby names, best colleges, best places to live, and People magazine's most beautiful people.

But my favorite list is the one that I update daily... if not hourly. I'm not embarrassed that I create lists and then put things on them that I have already done, just so I can cross them off. With a busy life both in and out of the office, I must rely on lists to manage and set priorities.

So what list did I leave off that is your favorite? Oh, wait – we can turn that into a new list!

PS – Another favorite list comes from a favorite TV show, Friends. You remember the episode...Ross spends days deliberating who would be on his "freebie" list and then laminates it only to have Isabella Rosselini walk into the coffee shop. I find it entertaining to ask friends who is on their freebie list. And for full disclosure mine are: Jon Bon Jovi, George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, Taye Diggs and Zac Efron.
